We have considerable expertise and experience working within 'live' and sensitive environments, from education establishments to hospital theaters and elderly persons' accommodation care homes.
We believe the most important element to delivering a project around a live environment is communication.
Whilst expert in the field of construction activity, our personnel are also excellent communicators and ambassadors for our Company. The family principle and ethos permeates throughout our business. Our team care about the work, clients and Company. We have extensive internal training programmes which focus on the key areas of Health & Safety, First Aid and construction related courses, but also personnel management, key client management and communications.
Our site based project teams host daily/weekly meetings with the client and identified key points of contact. Weekly programme updates provide clear identification of works together with notice of any potentially disruptive activities. The rational for all works are explained together with proposed actions to mitigate any disruption.
Daily update sheets are prepared and posted on notice boards drawing awareness to all stakeholders of day to day construction activities.
The building and refurbishment programme at our school has been a live site at all times. The project team have coped extremely well with a site of 150 staff and almost 1200 students. The site area of operation has been secure at all times, traffic management was excellent whereby all deliveries were taken when students were in lessons and the vehicles walked onto site by a banksman to the relevant destination. The safeguarding of students was upheld with the effective segregation of builders by way of hoarding, Heras fencing and by not moving materials whilst students are moving during break/lunch and lesson change over. The team were considerate when exams were taking place by ensuring that noise levels are kept to a minimum or non-existent. The team undertook weekly progress meeting with the school’s single point of contact (myself) and the school site manager to maintain effective communication.
Overall an extremely positive experience.
