The Works
The design and redevelopment of the existing Operating Suite in Stroud Hospital including the provision of new air conditioning and a first floor extension to the theatre itself.

Electrical Works
A complete rewire and update of the electrical system was included in the scheme – undertaken whilst maintaining power to the working A & E Department adjacent.

Relationship with Client
Through a pro-active and positive team approach, we were able to devise, with the assistance of the client, an alternative design for the external plant arrangement. This reduced the groundworks required and allowed the exclusion of a complex retaining wall. All of this led to a contract saving of some £40,000 which the client was able to use to upgrade works to the adjacent Endoscopy Suite, whilst still maintaining the project budget.

Community
The project was undertaken via a shared ambulance access and within the curtilage of the hospital. Through regular informal and formal meetings with the hospital staff and neighbours a good relationship was developed and maintained throughout.
