The Works
Construction of a new 3 storey girls' boarding house, incorporating 3 No. flats for staff.
Features of Project
The location of the site provided the construction team with many difficulties as the site was located in the far corner of the school estate with access to the site through the school grounds or via a narrow lane adjacent to the site.
These difficulties were overcome by co-ordinating the deliveries with the school and scheduling the materials ahead of programme.
The building was constructed with a steel frame, with precast concrete floors. The external walls were constructed with metal stud and clad with brick and larch timber boards. The roof construction consisting of a single ply membrane with an eco friendly sedum roof.
