Brief History
E. G. Carter and Company Limited was founded in 1945 by Edward George Carter – father of the current Chairman.
The Company remains in family ownership and the first of the fourth generation of Carters to be employed within the business commenced work in 2010. The family ownership and involvement within the business is very important to the ethos and philosophy the Company adopts in its day to day dealings with clients, staff and suppliers.
Today the Company employs just over 300 staff and has an annual turnover in the region of £60 million.

We believe passionately in the quality of our construction and service. We are a company that wholly respects the aspirations of our clients, a company that invests in our employees and, perhaps most importantly, a company that can plan and act for the long term benefits of all stakeholders.
Although the activities of the Company are truly diversified, the core beliefs of the Company run through every division with all staff being treated equally and fairly. Our policies towards client satisfaction are implemented and monitored closely by the Directors.
The Company has grown rapidly in recent years and yet we have always been mindful of our obligations to the environment, community and staff safety.
As the Company continues to embrace modern technologies and techniques, it will never forget its origins as a “traditional building contractor”.
